Havoc DSH Wins Big!
Havoc wowed the judges at the Future Young Event Horse competition at the end of May at Waredaca winning her division by over five points! Judges comments included "lovely uphill connection at the withers . . .balanced trot and good hock flexion" . This mare impresses everyone that sees her. Watch for her back in the ring in September.

Sock
(Osocka - 3/4TB, 1/4Perch) and his owner Jennifer Shattuck make their debut at Training Level at the Lumber River HT in NC with a 4th place finish! Yea! Jennifer and Sockie. First qualifying score towards Prelim for this very promising partnership.

Tess
(Now know as Tessla) wins her first Horse Trial, finishes on her dressage score. A year ago she was trail riding in a western saddle! She's a beautiful mover and a brave and good jumper in addition to being super trainable! Congratulations to Sharon her owner, and Beth her trainer.

O'Brian's Bridge (Jake)
Just wanted to let you know how Jake did at the recognized show at Loch Moy. After a very trying start where Jake was an angel though it all, he went on to win his Training Level 4 class! It was very exciting.
Amy Hella

Tripoli and Courtney make their "A" rated show debut: Hi Lori! I wanted to update you.. we went to our first shows this past weekend. We went to two big 'A' rated shows and he did absolutely amazing I was so proud of him and have never been happier.

Willa and I have had a great fall - in and out of the show arena! We worked hard to bring our Training 4 test to the Fall Pinehurst Recognized show and succeeded in winning a very competitive class in front of a senior "S" judge from Arizona. We also received a 69.2% second place at Training 4 at a recent schooling show. The winning horse, a German import - for sale for $80,000! - beat us by only .4%. The judge gave Willa an "8" on gaits! And an 8 on the elusive stretching circle!

Congratulations! to Amy Crandell of N.C. and Willamena on their debut in recognized dressage competition. They were second, with a score of 68% in early May of 06. Competing against both seasoned horses and German bred warmbloods, they brought home a high ribbon and tons of compliments on this very beautiful and talented mare. Just coming five, Willa exemplifies our horses - beautiful, talented and quiet! Well Done Amy & Willa, we are impressed and proud!

Amy Crandall of North Carolina and Willa, her lovely Belgian x Paint mare just keep proving that a Dundulk Draft Cross is very competitive with warmbloods in the dressage ring. At a recognized show at Pinehurst, NC, at the beginning of October, Amy and Willa took a blue with a score of 68% at Training Level Test 1 giving them1st place! She reports

“our closest competitor earned a 59% and we also took a 70% at Training Level Test 2 second place - the winner beat us by .368 of a percent!” This was her second recognized dressage show and her first time "overnighting" at a show grounds. She was a perfect lady! Willa continues to wow spectators and judges alike . . . I must add that it was my first time scoring a 70% at a recognized show, not to mention winning a class! so it was very much a big weekend for us both. Our partnership has really progressed since our May show. Willa is such a sweetheart and has such presence. I do have to remind myself I've only had her 1 year, 3 months."

Amy bought Willa as a green 4 yo and is doing a tremendous job with her. Congratulations to a lovely rider and her lovely horse.

Congratulations to Amy Crandall Allen and Williamena in N.C. on their continued wins at recognized dressage shows!

A Willamena update! Spring recognized show in Pinehurst: 69% and a win (in front of a very strict German judge)

2nd place in the amateur sweepstakes with a 68.7% (see red medal).

Willa has also helped me earn a USDF Rider Certification at Training Level (see patch on my jacket). We are ready to start first level work as we’ve accomplished our basics at Training Level. She continues to be a whole lot of fun and everyone asks (and is surprised) about her breeding.

Congratulations to Michele Leasure and Ridley on a 4th place finish at their first event!

Michele reports on preparing for her next event: Today I had a jumping lesson with Jeffrey Welles (he is on the Olympic team this year) and he loved Ridley, said he was really good with his front end- he had me jump the liverpool and this other open water- I couldn't believe it, Ridley has never done anything like that- he was awesome and brave! Thanks again.

Congratulations to Keilly Sheehan and Ellie (sold by Dundulk Sporthorses as Butter Pecan) winners of the 2007 Jr. North American Field Hunter Championships, 1st Flight, 13 and over Division!

This horse went from green under saddle to hunting first flight with Green Spring Hounds and winning the Jr. North American Field Hunter Championships in just 2 seasons! Thanks to the Sheehan's for giving her such a wonderful home.

Our very own 14 yo TB Broodmare - Star Evans, wins her class at the Belgian Warmblood Inspections - over Warmblood Mares!! And her filly foal, Dundulk's Havoc wins her class!

This very classy mare impressed the judges with her conformation and gaits. She is also approved by Oldenburg/ISR and everything she has produced has been fabulous. We thank the Belgian Warmblood judges for recognizing her (and her foal's) quality!

Dundulk's Havoc is a 3/4 TB 1/4 Warmblood bred to event! Check out her sire Gatsby at foxdalefarm.us We think Gatsby is the eventing sire for TB mares and predict you will see a lot of his get on x-c courses! More info about this special filly is under Babies for Sale.

Congratulations to Amy (Crandall) Allen and Willamena (Paint x Belgian) who, at a recent dressage show won both their classes - Training 1 and 2 and ended up with the high scores of the day! Then followed it up the next weekend with a win at a recognized show over 11 riders, 4 of which were professionals! We are very impressed with this pair.

Congratulations to Michele Leasure of Salem, New York who took Ridley (Clyde x Warmblood) to his first show ever - A Hunter Trial and came home Reserve Champion!

Congratulations to Michele Leasure and Ridley on a 4th place finish at their first event! and a second place finish at their very next one!

Congratulations to Kimberly Kempa and her Johnny Walker (Perch x Warmblood) who won her Training Level 2 division with a 68.7%.

EVERYONE always comments on him. Got a 70 today at PVDA Schooling show Trng 2. WE will be moving up soon. ( judge told me I had to :)) . . . I LOVE HIM! THANK YOU, Kimberly.

I took Johnny to his first show this season and he got a 68 and a 70 with two 9s for his halts ! At his second show we got a 65 on our first T4 test judge said he should be doing first level ! Will be moving up!!

Kimberly Kempa of Potomac MD and her lovely Johnny Walker, a 5 yo Perch x TB gelding, have made their dressage debut with a bang – taking reserve champion first time out! Shortly thereafter, she got high score of the day at a September show. Way to go Kimberly!

Wanted to let you know that Johnny got a 1st with a 69% at his first PVDA Schooling Show! 8s for his medium walk and his halt! Judges LOVED his walk and he was an angel. Today Johnny and I got 2 firsts at a local dressage show - 63 & 67%. We were also Champion with the highest score of the day!

Congratulations to Jennifer Shattuck and Osocka, (3/4 TB x 1/4 Perch) competing at the Five Points Horse Trials at Carolina Horsepark in September of 07, where they garnered at 28 in dressage with a 9 on one movement! Way to go Sockie and Jennifer! We knew this horse loved to jump but wow! are we impressed with his improvement in dressage.

Thanks to everyone who give these horses such wonderful homes!

It was a pleasure to run into Charlie Martinez at the unrecognized event at Waredaca in June of 07. Charlie purchased Greystone (Stony) from us as a very green three year old. As an eight year old, he is eventing him, hunting him and trailing riding him all over North America. What a nice pair they make!

Congratulations! to Sara Shearin - our long time rider (if you bought a draftcross from us, Sara probably rode it at one time or another) on making the North American Young Rider Championships team in Eventing! She'll be competing in her first one star at Lexington the first week of August, 2006. In only a year and a half, she has done an incredible job with her little TB mare Canilla (that was an emaciated rescue when she bought her) taking her from Baby Novice to Prelim with double clears in x-country and stadium at every event! We are very proud of you!

Dundulk Sporthorses recently received a very high ranking (13th out of 231!) in the USEF Leading Breeder Rankings for Dressage – above such power houses as Hilltop Farm! Since we breed very few horses each year, this is truly an honor! We are also listed 25th for Eventing.

Folks – we have nice young horses – how nice is evidenced by Ridley, a horse we just sold to Michele Leasure of N. Salem, N.Y. In November, we had an entry to a beginner novice event for a horse that got sold the day before the event. We decided to take Ridley in his stead, but we had a minor problem in that he had never jumped. We spent 30 minutes taking him over fences then took him to the event the next day. He had been under saddle 3 months, never been off the farm and never jumped. He finished 5th overall out of over 20 horses. He had to do the dressage phase in an indoor which he had never been in before and his x-country was in the near dark. It takes a lot of poise for a young horse to do what he did. He is an example of the type of horse we make and sell regularly. Part of it is their bloodlines – we only buy from long established breeders who know what they are producing (absolutely no PMU horses on this site). And part of it is their training, we start them with roundpen work to get them focused on us and then correct under saddle work so that they are forward, straight, happy and trustworthy. With this background, they can (and do!) go on to do anything. We have two other horses bred like Ridley – Bally Duff and Kippen.

Congratulations to Lisa Trovillian on Patrick Murphy for the high score of the day at the Ft. Mead dressage show. Patrick Joseph is a ½ brother to Bally Duff on the Sales List.

If you’ve read this site, you know our fascination with the hackney crossbred. Zypher is a paint/percheron/hackney gelding that we sold to Sarah Shearin in the fall of 2004. She began hunting him with Blue Ridge (first flight!) the 2004-2005 hunt season. She then began his eventing career in the summer of 2005. He has received a score of 9 in dressage on a movement in his first recognized event, he has never had a stop cross country or in stadium and he always makes time. He is slated to move up to Training this fall and he is just five. Zypher exemplifies what we love in this cross: trainability, extraordinary self-carriage and suitability for dressage and remarkable jumping ability. Sarah reports that when she takes her TB mare on the x-country course, it is work, but when she takes Zypher – it is just fun. He’s that easy. Sarah is 18 and trains with Sharon White. Look for them eventing – he’s hard to miss with his black & white markings and one blue eye, showing under the name Halcyon Meadow’s West Wind. Zypher is our 2005 Hackney spokes-horse.

Aire Bourne is a TBxWB mare (registered Oldenburg) we bred and sold to Rebecca Shearer as a 2yo. She began her event career this spring(as a 4 yo) with a bang. Dressage scores in the mid-30s! Honest and brave x-country and in stadium. We cannot describe in words the beauty of this horse. She is fluid and light and animated - truly an astonishing mover. She is a half sister to Keep Tryst and Keep Kissing – a yearling filly who is for sale. Her dam is bred to Riverman for a 2006 foal. Watch for that one, it will be truly special!.

A Two Fer for Dundulk Sporthorses at the Ft. Meade Equestrian Center recognized show on May 2, 2004! Two geldings bred by Dundulk Sporthorses took home three blue ribbons in the PVDA recognized show – Cheraz won both his classes – Third level Tests 2 & 3 and Mithril (formerly Rumors of War) won a Training Level Test 4 class. These geldings are half brothers by Cabaret and Riverman respectively and we are thrilled with their accomplishments.

Mithril is owned and loved by Penny Mohr and Cheraz belongs to Judy Whyte.

"I just wanted to let you know that Second Glance won the Grand Championship for Training Level, Adult Amateur AND the High Point Award...69.23% for the show season. The day after the club awards party, last Saturday, I showed Glance at a schooling show at Canterbury, near Gainsville, FL. Glance won Training Level, Test II and got a 6th in Training Level I He is such sweetheart! Update January 04 – Glance got a 62% and 60% at his first recognized show!"

Formerly known as Eagle Wynd a SaddlebredxBelxTB gelding.

Cheraz a six year old Holsteiner x TB homebred gelding owned by Judy White is really going places. He won the Third Level open BLM class at the PG County Equestrian Center’s recognized show in October with a score of 57.38% Plus, the pair was on the 3rd place team with a score of 56.07% in the Capital Challenge Classes at the same venue in November. Out of first place by .32!

Mithril (Formerly Rumors of War) has finished his first year of showing with several championships! He was Training Level Champion for the Southern Maryland Chapter of PVDA, plus, he was awarded the Exhault Farm High Score Perpetual Trophy. Congratulations to Penny Mohr, his owner and Natalie Roberts, his rider on the fabulous job they have done with this wonderful horse.

UPDATE: Mithril, a Dundulk-bred Oldenburg gelding is just beginning his USDF recognized career this year and is garning owner Penny Mohr more than just blue ribbons! She earned her last two scores needed to get her USDF qualified rider patch. With scores in the high 60's she'll be moving up quickly through the levels. We wish the beautifully suited pair all the success they can handle!

Several Dundulk-bred horses have been doing very well lately and we would like to share their success with you as we have some of their siblings for sale!

Oddjob - A Dundulk bred three year old won the 3 Year Old Colts and Gelding Class at the PVDA 2002 Sport Horse Show at the PG County Equestrian Center August 23rd. He had a score of 68.4% under judge Gerd Zuther. Not bad for a 3yo at his second show! Oddjob is a half brother to Sushi another of our homebreds who sold as an event horse to California. We've been thinking of Sushi as an event prospect but clearly, she'll do well in a dressage arena too.

These horses are representative of the type of horses we sell, so trainable and so athletic, they are able to show and WIN as three year olds!

We breed a very small number of horses each year, but each of them is uniformly exceptional. We invite you to visit and see for yourselves!
